Gordon Chevrolet Service consultant Keith Broughner can’t explain why business in the facility’s 30 service bays is down 70 percent. Maybe it’s the economy - a lot of people are going to the non-OEM competition because they think it’s cheaper. Right now, Gordon will change your oil and rotate your tires for a tough-to-beat $39.99. Keith says most of the business they’re getting is for add-on equipment for new vehicle customers, like the ground effects being added to the Bumblee Camaro on a hoist near the front of the service area. What big service issues is he seeing? Door locks on Impalas and Silverados is one. Gordon is a survivor of the dealership rationalization - almost all the other Chevy dealers near Gordon are or will be winding down. Keith doesn’t like “walking on the graves of others” but Gordon is planning for twice the amount of service business over the next year.
